Deconstruction of Narratives – Challenges in Media

A daylong symposium is being organised by the School of Mass Communication, Ranchi University, aims to bring an academic and media perspective of such questions like misinformation in the present day scenario. How high are the stakes for news organisations to ensure credibility? What is the trajectory of news in the age of Deep Fake, AI-generated content and machine language, for instance? Does it warrant a new look at narrative? How do we assess the construction and deconstruction of the narrative in such a media environment? Why are there concerns about disinformation, bias and the authenticity of content in media?

This is a chance to hear top academic minds and media persons dwell on the importance of transparency, fact-checking, and ethical guidelines, especially in an AI-oriented media industry. How can the fourth pillar of democracy stay vigilant and proactive? How can the integrity of journalism be upheld in the age of ChatGPT?
